As a Verbier Festival Orchestra alumnus and the winner of Musicus's Young Artist Audition 2025, violist Hoi Yan-lok takes a unique approach in developing virtuosity. He plays chamber music with passion and sensitivity, and has co-founded a trio and a quartet. Their appearances have garnered wide acclaim at major European festivals and venues in France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria, including the famous Golden Hall Musikverein of Vienna. Currently studying for two master’s degrees in Vienna, Austria, Hoi is arriving on the international music scene, captivating audiences in Australia, China and the US.

Much in demand for his impressive technical finesse, Hoi has also performed with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Youth Orchestra. For his Hong Kong recital debut, accompanied by likewise Austria-trained pianist Lam Ka-ming, Hoi has handpicked beautiful and challenging works by Brahms, Prokofiev, Hindemith and more to bring out the viola’s warm timbre and demonstrate his musicianship.
